I'm late......

I'm late.........

I'm so late for writing
this post. :/

Grace's birthday is next week!

And guess what I forgot to write about
before she turns 2? I forgot to write a post
about her last month before turning 2!

Oh what's the matter with me?! How could
I possibly forget about such an important
post? Life. It just happens.

I always told myself that I would never be
one of those scattered brain moms, and that I
would lose the "pregnant" brain, and that it
would all go back to normal. I might have
been slightly wrong when I was thinking that!

I was doing really good until I started going
back to work. Ever since then I feel like everything
is all out of sorts. Sheesh! I just want to be all caught up!

So anyway, back to what I was writing this post about.

My baby was 23 months on November 10th!

Some of Grace's favorite things to do are play with
play dough, paint (all the time), and she's always at her
happiest time when she's in a swing! Everyday when
we get home she's asking to either swing or to paint.


She loves to "pucker up" and give kisses. And after she
sweetly kisses you, she always follows it with "I love you!"
She's become a lot more conversational, even though
sometimes we're not sure what she's talking about, but
my goodness her expressions are hilarious!

Here recently she has despised coming home. She would rather
be out socializing than sitting at home playing with me. :(
But I take that as a good sign. She's going to have a very outgoing
personality, I can already tell!

Something that she has taken a high interest in are trains.
Anytime we come to rail road tracks and get stopped by
the train, she sits there in awe watching it go by. We've even
started watching a cartoon in the morning that's about trains.
It's called Chugginton. She loves it! This was one thing that
took me by surprise!

A new favorite word that Brad and I love to hear Grace say
is Christmas tree. Except it's more like tristris tree. Haha!
Absolutely adorable! Our neighbor has her house and yard
decorated with tons of lights, and every evening Grace has to
go to her bedroom window to look at them. She will keep saying
tristris tree the whole time she's looking at the lights. I love it!

One thing that I'm ever so excited about is that Grace has
started liking green beans. I thought I would never get her
to eat those, but not too long ago I fixed them for dinner,
and she gobbled those green beans down! Yay!

She loves to jump on her bed and on the couch when
she gets really excited. And all I can do is laugh because
of how happy she is when she's doing it. She'll start
laughing so hard while she's jumping and it's contagious.

She also loves to sing in the car, while she's playing by
herself, when she's taking a bath, and any other time
that she finds enjoyable to sing. Her favorite songs to sing
are Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star and the alphabet song.
When she sings twinkle, twinkle she says "tinkle, tinkle!"
Haha! It makes me laugh every time! Oh and she likes
The Itsy Bitsy Spider too!

She's just growing too fast! I was going through all the
pictures of her after her 1st birthday and felt so overwhelmed
by how fast the time has gone. But at the same time I'm
overwhelmed with joy for her and how much she has learned.

So here's to the last week and a half of Grace being one!
We love you sweet pea!

I'll have you know....

....that Grace has the best daddy in the whole world!

He would do absolutely anything for that girl!
Well for both of his girls for that matter.

When they have daddy/daughter days, he loves
to take her shopping, sing songs with her, and
even this....


I came home one day from work and happened to
find Grace's finger and toe nails painted! I was really
shocked to learn that Brad had even attempted to try
this. But that's just the kind of person he is. What had
happened was Grace got a bottle of polish from the
bathroom, and she asked her daddy if he would paint
her nails for her. Of course, not in so many words, but
more like "paint?", and holds her hands out pointing at
her nails. She's so smart! Haha! And how could he turn
down such a sweet question? Well that's just it! He couldn't!
So he kindly obliged his daughter by painting them for her.

That just goes to show how caring and loving he is for
his family. Brad would do anything in the world to make
us happy! I couldn't ask for anything better than that!

And he does a really good job too!

Thank you Brad for always doing your best to
keep Grace and I happy! Even the little gestures
like this go a long way! It's the kindness, patience,
and passion that you have for us that makes it
all worth while.

A Late Trick or Treat

I have to say that I can't wait to take Grace
trick or treating next year! We had such a blast
walking around and getting to see all of the
cool costumes and decorations. Grace did so well
with walking beside us and holding our hands.
Best of all she did very well at using her manners
at each house we went to. She would hold out her
little bucket for them to drop the candy in and very
sweetly say "thank you".

Before we headed out, Grace got a little bonus candy
bucket, and she had to investigate before we left.

I love her determination to get that open! Haha!

This was the perfect fall weather for trick or treating.
The beautiful fall colors in the trees really set the mood!

The second picture was at the last house we went to that
night, and you couldn't even tell that she was tired. It sums up
the whole evening and how much we enjoyed getting to do this together.

Revealed....

Finally! I'm posting about Grace's Halloween costume!

Again, if you don't remember, she dressed up as Pebbles.
I must say she was the cutest Pebbles I've ever seen!

This was our a second trip to a pumpkin patch. Grace
just really loves them. The way she says pumpkin is even
better. She still has about 3 little pumpkins that she loves
playing with. Silly girl! I figured that while we were picking
out some pumpkins that I would make it a little session
to look back on. After all Grace is my best model!

When she was picking out a wagon she pulled one out,
decided that she didn't like it, and grabbed another one.
A little particular, hmm I wonder where she gets that from?
Couldn't be me!

After running around for a bit, Grace decided that she wanted
to ride in the wagon. It just wouldn't be right if she didn't get
to ride in it at least once!



I love this next little series of pictures. Grace was
showing lots of love to her pumpkin! She's such a sweet girl.
Kisses and snuggles!


And after our fun little trip to the patch, Grace was ever
so happy to accept a sucker from the nice lady that sold
us the pumpkins.


So I have one last Halloween post to do, and then
that holiday will be over. Then maybe I can get caught
up on all the other stuff. Like Grace's birthday that is
less than a month away!

One More Thing from Yesterday.....

How could I have forgotten this picture?
I absolutely love it!


It's definitely not the best picture for all of us being in focus.
(that's what I get for using shallow depth of field)
But the point is that what is in focus is what mine and
Brad's main focus is in life! Our precious daughter! She's our
whole world! And this was taken right before we went to
Maxwell's Pumpkin Farm. She was doing a "1,2,3" countdown
before I snapped the picture. So sweet!

And I'm really hoping that tomorrow morning
Grace will wake up at her normal time instead of
an hour early from the time change! Ugh!

Maxwell's Pumpkin Farm

I now realize that after all the editing I did for these
pictures, that I had selected the wrong ones to post.
I had another pumpkin patch story with Grace
wearing her Halloween costume. This one she is not.
But that's okay because this was the first one we
went to anyway.

Out of all of the pumpkin farms we chose to go to
the Maxwell Pumpkin farm. They seemed to have
more fun activities for kids than the other places.
We were so very excited to go and so was Miss Grace!

We started out with going through the obstacle corn maze.
They had a little house made out of hay that you could walk
through, a tunnel to crawl through, stacked hay that you
could climb over, and all sorts of other fun stuff.

The house out made of hay was one of Grace's favorite spots.
She got very mad at us when it was time to move on.


Then we came across a little sandbox that they could
play in, but it wasn't filled with sand. It was filled with
nothing but corn! It didn't matter to Grace though.
She thought it was pretty cool too! And man it was such
a struggle to pull her away from that. People were staring at
us like we had just hurt our daughter. C'mon people I
was just trying to show her the humongous slide
that they had. Grace looooves to slide.



After the ride on the slide, Grace wasn't so upset after all.

So then we moved on to the BIG corn maze. It was 1.7 miles,
and there were check points on the map that you would
punch out with a hole punch every time you found one.

It was very tiring to say the least, but so much fun!
The bottom right corner picture is of Grace standing
on a tower of hay. She's trying to figure out how that
boy got up there!


She had so much fun riding in the wagon and picking
the pumpkins out.


She of course got a dum dum sucker when we
got ready to leave. Sweet girl! It was a blast!

Powder Fresh

I guess she thought she needed some
freshening up?!

Needless to say, she smelled baby fresh for
the rest of the day! Silly girl!


P.S. I just have to mention that Grace used her
potty for the third time tonight on her very own! I
was just about to wrap her up in her towel from
bath time when she urgently said "Pee-pee!". She
used it 3 times before she went to bed! I'm so very
proud of her! We had so much trouble getting her
ready for bed because she wanted to keep trying
to use the potty! Hopefully she will get the hang of
using only the potty very, very soon! :)

Finger Wrapped

When Grace can get away with doing something
like this, you definitely know she's got her daddy
wrapped around her fingers, all ten!

There's nothing on the brush, but if she did have
something on there, Brad wouldn't stop her! Haha!

Watch out dad!

Ouch! But he was okay! Grace kissed it to
make it better.

Stuck on a Title.....

Whoever says that I have too many pictures of my
child is crazy! My hard drive is overloaded, overflowing,
and overwhelmingly filled with "Grace" pictures!
I could never have too many! So here tonight I'm going

And last, I just had to share this one. Though it's not
of Grace, I love it a lot. I had a session with this little boy
today and it was never the less refreshing! The whole
family is just really pleasant to be around! They're all
very laid back and down to earth.
I really, really love his expression!

Try, Try Again

My strong willed little girl has been doing
some extra practicing here lately. She is constantly
taking her shoes on and off. You know what they say,
practice makes perfect! She's getting really good at it,
even though she can get extremely frustrated with it
sometimes. Getting her heel stuck on the back is one
of the worst things to make her mad about it.


So here is Miss Gracie doing her best at
putting her shoes on all by herself!


This picture that's in the top left hand corner
is where she was about ready to give up! She had
had about enough of that shoe and was almost in
tears because it kept getting stuck on her heel.
But I just kept encouraging her, telling her to keep
on trying, and she was finally able to get it on all the way!

Her different facial expressions of attempts at
getting the shoe on crack me up! She is so hilarious
to watch. At least I know that she has great
determination for when she gets older!
She's definitely a go-getter!

Way to go Grace! You're becoming such a big
girl everyday! Mommy and daddy are so, so proud
of you! I hope you always stay this determined in
everything you do!

I'm so excited to dress Grace up as this! She's going
to be such an adorable Pebbles!

But one thing I'm having trouble with is some ideas
for making the bone to put in her hair. Should I use
a chicken bone, maybe a dog bone, or make it out of
something? I feel silly asking this question, but it would
help to hear some suggestions! It's not everyday that
you put such an accessory as this in your kids hair.

What are you going to be for Halloween this year, or what
are your children going to be?

Deja Vu

I feel like I've just wrote about Grace being 21 months old
yesterday. And now I'm already writing about her being 22
months old! This month went by way too fast. And October
is going to be gone sooner than I want it to be. I mean it's
already the tenth! Crazy! And I still haven't finalized
anything for her birthday yet! Yikes! I feel very behind right
now. I will hopefully have everything planned out soon,
very soon!

Some very exciting news that I've been wanting to share
with everyone is that Grace went and used the potty all
on her very own for the first time on Friday! I was absolutely
ecstatic! For those of you that read this and aren't parents,
well you'll eventually understand the excitement. Haha!
I was about to start her bath water, but then remembered
that I needed to get her pajamas out first. I went to shut the
bathroom door and she just started banging on the door saying....
no more like yelling "potty, potty!" So I let her go in and she
ripped that diaper off, sat down on her little potty, and then the
music started playing after a few seconds! I was and am so happy
that she is starting to tell us when she has to go potty!

She loves, loves, loves to read! Here lately she sits in her room
forever at a time, and I will find her in her rocking chair with
a ton of books crowding her in the chair.

Bottom line is that she is such an amazing little girl, and
I cannot get over how much she has grown! And how much
she has learned so quickly!
Yesterday morning she decided to cuddle up with her blanket
and pillow to read her new collection of books!

Such an organized little girl!

Slow down Grace! Mommy feels like you should still be
a little baby small enough to cradle in her arms.

But now you're big enough to crawl all over me
when you feel like being silly!

Mommy and daddy love you oh so much and we can't
wait to see what the future has in store for all three of us!

Hut, Hut

This is daddy's little football buddy! I think I have
to admit that she's going to be a little tomboy.
That's okay because I was too!

Ha! It looks like she's getting ready
to spike the ball! And the little boy is Briley,
this is Grace's cousin on the other side
of the family. He's a sweetheart!


She's so funny!

Brad's a big OU fan and he recently
bought Grace a pink OU t-shirt. So now
he'll ask Grace to go get her "touchdown"
shirt and that's the one she grabs. So
cute! And she also throws her hands up
in the air and yells touchdown! Hilarious!

I'll say this for you honey, Boomer Sooner!
But I'm really neutral about it. I'm more
competitive when it comes to the NFL.

Isn't She Lovely?!

The mommy/daughter moments have become
more and more important each day as Grace gets
older. Her vocabulary is out of this world and I
love to hear her talk to me all the time. Whether
she's mad, sad, or happy it's all music to my ears!

My new favorite thing to hear her say is "hi baby"!
She tells Bradley and I that every single day now.
Every time we enter the room she says it. Every
day I pick her up from the sitter's house, she tells
me that. It makes me want to hold her and love on
her forever and ever. It makes all the stress in my life
disappear. She started saying it because every morning
I go to get her up I always say hi baby, or good
morning baby.

I always worry that I'm not spending enough time
with her on educational things such as her alphabet,
numbers, colors, and shapes. But she takes me by surprise
when she sees a circle and tells me what it is. Just the
other day she saw an oval on the TV and said "obal"!
And I just shrieked with excitement and said "Yes Grace!
That is an oval. Very good!" She sings her alphabet in the
kitchen with her magnet letters and in the bath tub with
her foam letters. She can successfully count to five and
point to her fingers while she's doing it.

Another funny thing is that she's learned my name.
Even though I wish she would call me mommy, it's really
cute to hear her say Kasey. She still does call me mommy,
I just think that she likes to say Kasey too. She'll call out
for me and say "Tasey"! Haha! It's so funny! She's such
a silly girl!

And I don't know why, but I love love love this one!



Grace is who I love to write about all the time. She's
truly my everything, and Brad is too of course. But it's a different
kind of love for a child. Especially when it comes from the
mommy. I am constantly wanting to know who's reading my blog,
or how many people are out there actually reading it because
I want to share my happiness and excitement with other people.
Especially my family and friends. I want everyone to know how
special this child is to me. And just how special she is period! So
forgive me if all you see are posts of Grace sometimes. She is
what's in my heart all the time. She is what I write about best.
I know I wrote the post once before about how I would try and bring
new things into my blog, but it's so hard sometimes when I have
all of these pictures of Grace that make me smile and want to
share them with all of you.

So anyway, I guess you've heard me ramble on enough
tonight. I'll call it good. It's a relief to get that out though.
